P-C router 7529 just quit

My Porter Cable 7529 VS plunge router quit in the middle of the run. I recall in very early on there was a switch problem and I managed to fix it but can't remember how other than there were no parts involved. Any suggestions? Is it worth repairing and weren't there service repairs issues on that model? I see it is discontinued. Thanks

I have read several articles about this model router having issues with the variable speed control. I believe the issues was resolved with the type 2, however the damage had been done and the model was discontinued. You might try replacing the variable speed control or buy a new router.
