Default Should I rebuild my old Bosch jigsaw?

My old jigsaw is a barrel grip that requires using a screw driver to change the blade. It's never let me down but the blade action is sloppy and it's so loud I need to wear hearing protection! I wondering if anyone has had success rebuilding one of these. I know it would cost too much to "send it in" so I'd do it myself.
    Thanks

I have rebuilt alot of them and they turn out like new.check out the parts break down.now it culd be that the screws that hol the shaft tight are loose or the shaft it self broke up top.#46 on break down show the placement on the screws.check the prices on the parts seperatly, then as an assembly.that is one of the best jigs that were made.I would rebuild.make sure your gear did not chip or crake then you might not want to do it.not cost effective to change the armature and the gear.

Thanks for the reply. I think after I get the power planer together I'll do it. I don't want too many tools sitting around in pieces - I might lose parts or forget how they go together. Any tips on disassembly that I need to know?

Assuming the lifting rod (shaft) isn't broken, since it's discontinued!, what parts should I replace to tighten it up and hopefully quiet it down? Also, what kind of lube do you use?
