Is there a way to put a metal saw blade on the 2730 type 3 to cut wood?

You are getting into some rather big safety issues in what you are wanting to do.
Your saw is made for an abrasive type blade, and you want to use blade that was made for a completely different type of saw. You need to look at the rpm's on the saw versus the allowable rpm's of the blade, I think you will see a difference in both. Using a blade over the manufacture's rated allowable rpm's in not the thing to do. Also the I would think there will be some safety guard issues too.
