Dewalt Drill chuck removal problem

I have a Dewalt DC759 that I'm replacing the chuck on, well the problem is the screw is stripped out so I drilled the top of it out, I am still not able to remove the chuck, am I doing something wrong, missing something, or should I try to drill a little more out? I'm worried about drilling to much and not having enough screw left to grip with vise grips when I do get the chuck off.
