    Default Starter Spring Replacement

I recently ordered the starter spring for my RY30542 from ereplacement, I then followed the video to put my trimmer back together. My problem is this - when I pull on the cord this is little tension, and it is turning the piston on the spring retensioning the chord. It is as if the replacement spring needs to be spun the opposite direction so that the chord spins the piston when I pull.

Is the part number listed incorrect, or is there something else perhaps broken? The trimmer was working fin when the spring I replaced broke, so I can't see what else may be the problem.

    Thanks

Well, I figured this out on my own. The spring listed on your guide as well as Ryobi's site is not wound the right way for my RY30542. I had to take both springs out of teh carrier and turn them around, then wind the cord clockwise. Problem solved. Thanks, Ryobi. **shakes fist**
