What is the small plastic piece that is sliced half way in the center of the fuel line for?
Often times it is used as a quick connect. Rather than replacing the complete fuel line if the unit has to be worked on, a splice connector will be used to save time in repairs. Hope this helps!
It is used to make carb repairs easier. Oftentimes, fuel lines crack with age when the carb is being serviced. So, to make it easier, a plastic quick connect is used so that the carb can be disconnected and serviced without threatening the rest of the fuel lines that go to the rest of the machine.
