How do you tell?

I bought a used PC 3x21 352VS sander and need to get a new bottom metal plate since the old one is worn. How do you tell what type the sander is, since I see there are 6 types of 352VS available.

Hello stagebuilder,

Porter-Cable will put the type number on the same label with the model number. If you have no type number, my guess is that is a type 1. In this case the steel shoe comes with the cork shoe, and the same part number is used on all 6 types.The part number is 903400.
