Ryobi Log Splitter stalls when splitting logs
I have a Ryobi RY49701 that is having difficulty splitting logs. The ram will run full cycle when not under load, however it does slow down considerably during the last third of its travel along the rail. When trying to split a log, the ram will hang up on the log and not retract. I've replaced the fluid and swapped out the ram relief valve from an identical log splitter, blown out the ram relief orifice and vent hole with compressed air, and inspected the pump gearing -- all appears fine. Short of replacing the Ram itself (Ryobi's suggestion), does anyone have any ideas?
