Need Help!!!!
I was sawing with this saw on Friday and in the middle of a cut it stopped just like i had turned it off. When i touched the motor it was not hot but i could smell a little something like hot wiring. I checked out the switch and it appears to be fine. What do i need to look at in the motor?
P.S. The motor will turn over free by hand.

Hi Roadhogg,
It sounds like you have an break in the field. This can be caused by a lot of things but the fact you smell something burnt leads me to think that the saw got hot and burned the field out.The most important thing to remember on small table saws is to always keep sharp blades on them and blow out the motor housing after use as saw dust will build up in the housing and block air flow.Hope that helps.Good luck.

we get a lot of these returned at work
9 out of 10 times they get replaced
because the work that needs doing
is above ecconomical repair leval (ERL)
if your going to do the work yourself
watch for the spring that holds the motor in place
it bites lol
