    Default Dewalt dc987

I need to replace the motor in my dc987. It has a bad burning smell is it difficult to get the motor out? Also I have been reading on here about the transmission falling apart when separating the motor from transmission? I have looked for a link showing how to remove the motor but could not find one. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

    Hi Franko453,
The removal of the motor on the Dc987 is really easy. Just remove the four end cap screws then remove the end cap and both wires that connect to the motor and gently wiggle the motor while pulling it out the back.Hope that helps.Good luck.
