Default Rockwell Delta Chop Saw parts

My father owns a crate shop and has a Rockwell Delta chop saw, 20-100 that he thinks is about 25 years old. He is looking to replace the large spring that holds the saw in position but has been unable to locate a replacement spring. Is there a spring that might be compatable with this saw that he could use? Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm fairly sure the part you're looking for is figure number 83 on the diagram (Here's a link to the breakdown on our site for reference: Delta 20-100 parts), so let me know if I'm off-base and you're after a different part.

Unfortunately, it looks like Delta hasn't been making those springs for a while now, and we don't have a way to get a replacement for your father's saw. The part number for the spring is 928-03-041-5884 (note: this could be listed elsewhere without the dashes). While you're not likely to find that part number itself, this may be useful if you decide to go after an aftermarket replacement.

    Michael.
Actually that number was superceeded to 928-03-061-5884, dewalt servicenet shows it in stock and lists for $99.77 +. There were two different versions for that saw. One had the spring mounted on the outside of the saw and is discontinued and the other was the one noted, mounts inside the support yoke.. Make sure thats the one you have. Pretty expensive for a freaking spring. Hope this helps...

    Nice catch!

I've made this part available for sale on our website. You can find it here:

    928030615884 Spring - $75.00

Thanks for the help, Terry. I don't think I would have found that replacement otherwise.

JenGiles: Just to reiterate what Terry said, make sure you double-check the mounting before buying a replacement. Since there were two versions of the saw, this still could be the wrong one.

    Good luck!

No problem, glad to help. As i'm sure you know, ever since dewalt, porter-cable, black & decker, and delta merged into one company their website (dewalt servicenet) has been a nightmare to use. It say's that its still "under construction", but has been saying that for over 2 years now. They constantly are discontinuing parts and breakdowns for tools, saying "no longer available", but if you search down the tool in the old parts "books" and look up the number they show they have it in stock. Don,t know how they intend to sell parts they have without showing them on a breakdown, but i've often turned to your site to verify numbers and prices so don;t mind helping out where i can.

Thank you guys so much for all of the information...I'm going to pass it on to my father (who refuses to use a computer as he states he's "a cowboy" ) and hopefully he is able to get his saw back up and running.

This is the greatest site! Thanks again!
