    Default Impact Drill

We have a DW059 Type 1 Drill. We took it apart and cleaned it up - it was full of clay from working on water main repairs. We put it back together and it ran for five seconds then died. Any suggestions?

    Hi cityshop
Unless you totally disassembled the tool and cleaned it in a part cleaner changes you have dirt jammed between the brushes and brush tubes. I'd take it apart and give it a good cleaning and then take a volt reading off your switch. This will check to see if the switch was damaged by the mud and moisture. But most likely your brush assembly has dirt and mud still in it.Hope this helps.Good luck.
