My Makita BHP452 18V drill has worked great for me. Just recently though I noticed I don't really have any othe speed than high speed and I have to compress the trigger all the way. I blew it all out still does it. I still make use of it just would be nice to have the variable speed too. My question is is this just a faulty switch or is it more?

Yes your switch is bad.The high side of the circuit is burned out.You need a Switch Part Number: 650583-6. Hope that helps.Good Luck.
