Default DW505 type 2 low power

Great site guys!..Do you think it probably just the brushes? I thought that i was running on to long of a extension cord (250' of 14ga) but when i plugged it in direct to the outlet it still did not have even a quarter of it power .. also if it is just the brushes do they just pull out of the switch or do you need to solder the new ones on?...please advise ...thanks

Default DW505 lowpower prob possible causes

    HEy Tony
some of the reasons for the problem you're xperiencing with the dw505 might be caused by the following ( hope it helps).
    1) the brushes may be too short so they're not contacting the commutator properly, and the ques.with the brushes, you may have to cut and solder the old leads unto the new ones, because according to the picture on the site the ones I see are for really the DW511.
    2) the other reason may be that the machine was pressure prior to the problem period, and as a result the winding insulation for the armature have broken down, resulting in a short somewhere on it,(may have to replace armature p/n 387614-00).
3)is the machine be powered by the correct voltage 110?

additionally, you can buy a can of electrical insulating spray paint, after you've removed the armature and try re-insulating it ,before considering buying a new one first.
hope my suggestion are of help to you.
