Chintzy dicontinued part
A wonderful tool... seldom used. About 10 years ago the cheap plastic lower guard broke right at the actuator screw. I was able to cob it back together and make it work. Sunday it broke again and it does not appear to be repairable again. Now I learn the part is obsolete with no replacement.

I have the same problem and, like you, I was able to cobble it back together and use it for 5 or 6 more years but now it is broken again, beyond repair. I also have searched the internet for a replacement guard but have not found anything. Delta says not available......NO, MORE DELTA TOOLS FOR ME. They used to be good and reliable tools and replacement parts have always been readily available. Now they are junk and no parts available.

Ive read a lot about the broken lower gaurd and I have one myself. Mine is still attached, but I have to move it by hand out of the way. I was wondering if anyone has tried a Ryobi lower guard kit. I saw this on Ebay and it looks very similar to the Delta. It is 45.00 with free shipping there item number 300552630383
Might be worth a shot. I only paid 30 dollars for my saw and it is good enough for occasional home use. I dont know if that much invested for the guard would be worth it to those of you wanting commercial use of it though.
