    Default 2 stars dissappointment

My BV400 was a sweet little tool, but after about 10 hrs of on and off usage the brushes on the motor begin to melt the motor housing. I thought Black & Decker would produce a better piece of equipment than that. I am really disappointed. I guess I'll mark B&D off my list of manufacturers of good power tools.

The same thing happened to mine. I trashed it. B&D is a big disappointment. I won't buy anything from them again.

Yes, same problem with failure of brushes on my BV4000 after only few hours use. Very poor on the reliability scale. And, did you notice the ridiculous unnecessarily complicated linkage for the Hi-Lo switch assembly? Surely degreed engineers didn't design this! Will go with TORO next time.
