Default 1 stars worse built motor on any table saw

I bought an old house about 2 years ago and am still in the process of doing a total remodel on it. My husband and I had an old table saw that has lasted though the last 30 years with us on remodels. Christmas of '08 we decided our Christmas gift to each other would be this great looking table saw at home depot. We weren't quit ready for it in our project but it was a great sale price and decided save now, build later. A project or two have come up on the house that called for the table saw. Now for the bad news, our saw didn't make 6 hours on it and the motor burned up. This table saw has a direct drive motor in a plastic housing that any heat warps the casing causing all the wiring in it to burn and warp the housing. We took it in to a motor repair shop and they informed us that it was not fixable that the same thing would happen. The wiring on the housing and the armature would just burn up again due to the plastic housing warping. So this is the worst table saw ever built!

Same thing happened to me. New motor - $460.00, new saw? I did not get my money's worth and will not buy another like this.

If the serial number on the saw has 0337 (if i remember right) in it, the motor is under warranty for life... usually with a receipt, never hurts to call and find out...
