1194AVSR - chuck replacement
My drill has been an absolute workhorse for many years. I've used it in dozens of concrete and stone projects, including drilling large-bore anchor holes, removing tiles with hammer-chisels and removing paint with wire brushes.
I recently replaced the chuck, and there was no chuck screw. When I opened the chuck it appeared as though the screw head had been stripped off, but I went ahead with the procedure anyway - securing in a vise, inserting an allen wrench and hitting it with a hammer. et voila, it came off easily. I expected to have to extract a shorn-off screw from the spindle, but there was only a clean, threaded hole with no screw. So apparently there never was a screw holding it in. Just fyi, if it appears your screw head is stripped off, try to take the chuck off anyway.

Hello mystreba,
Quite a few of the hammer drills out there will not use a chuck screw, since you do not do a lot a reversing with that type of tool. And because of the constant hammering and torque to the chuck it usually is a bear to take off. Glad it came off with such ease for you.
